Unpacking Complete
Too Many Cupboards
As a result of too many cupboards, the constant refrain is "where is the .....". We need to put some logic or a system in place otherwise it will be a constant hunt for bits and pieces we cannot find!
Meanwhile ...
is a stair
where Jack sits.
there isn't any
other stair
quite like
it.
he's not at the bottom,
he's not at the top;
so this is the stair
where
he always
stops.
with apologies to A A Milne
Quite why Jack has taken to the staircase when he has pick of so many other places is a mystery. I guess he can oversee what is going on around him and it's probably cool. Given he has been shipped just under five thousand miles, stopped in four different properties in three months, had numerous ferry crossings and his life generally disrupted, he's doing very well. "Walkies" or "dinner"usually gets his attention.
Unpacking was completed today and the cardboard boxes, packaging and other recyclables taken to the Gibsons Recycling Depot. Almost everything gets recycled on the Coast; food waste (collected), polystyrene, foam packaging, food trays, plastic wrapping and film, plus all the usual garbage. The downside is having to sort everything into the various elements. The car was full going to the recycling centre.

Morning beach walk and ferry terminal |
After lunch it was a trip to Canadian Tire near Sechelt to pick up the last bits of household kit. Recycling boxes, vacuum, cleaning stuff........
After a cuppa back at the house we kitted up to check out the walk to Langdale Falls. We got about half way there and decided it was an early morning rather than a warm afternoon walk. So back to the ranch.
We have only been in the house for forty eight hours, but it does feel like our home rather than a Airbnb rental.
Highlights of the day.
Seeing a Black Tailed Deer chewing the flower border of a house near the recycling centre. It suggests deer are just as much a challenge here in Canada as in the UK.
Spending an hour on chat with Telus trying to resolve the TV going to a 'green screen' every ten minutes. Various reboots and reinstalls seem to fix it - during Wimbledon!!! It was resolved to the resident Wimbledon viewer's delight who managed two enjoy two matches involving new Canadian talent.... come on Canada!
Tomorrow it's an early start collecting a rental van and to ferry/drive it over to the 'city' to collect our new sofas being delivered to Nick's address as the retailer West Elm (aka Williams Sonoma) don't deliver to the Sunshine Coast. Another ferry crossing!
Sounds good. Send us more pics of house and surrounds. Liz x
