N Coast to S Coast
And Back!
The fella in the car beside (a bit like a small Husky) turned up on the front passenger seat with the seat belt on.
As soon as the owner went in to the shops he was in the driving seat. Fortunately the owner must have taken the keys!
Cars were a theme for the day as we spent most of the day in one. We drove the length of the Coast to Langdale, to have as second visit to a house we are hoping to rent for the next year.
The visit was via several furniture, bed, housewares and other stores to check out the kit we'll need until some of our stuff gets shipped from the UK.
It did give us a chance to stop by The Gumboot Cafe in Roberts Creek for lunch. One of our favourite haunts, along with the whole Roberts Creek area!. If you are ever on the Sunshine Coast it's worth a visit. A pint of the local brew, and there are many, is £3.81. Sadly I was driving, so OJ only. It also gave us a chance to check out the beach and Fred spotted a couple of homes she'd rather like to own! (see photo) Beach was a bit like Chesil Beach, but with 6-9" stones/rocks so walking was a challenge. We did find a patch of sand to give Jack a run!
He was down at the water, almost before we were out of the car.
Back in the car and several more stores, we pitched up at the property just as the agent arrived. It is large! Well, huge actually. Larger than we need but have got an excellent deal on the rent. The owners, who live in Vancouver have delayed their retirement and just want someone living in it and looking after it. On three floors, it has decks facing out over the sea with an improving view the higher you get.
It has lots of space for visitors, which will be great when we have some beds!
The tree stump you see sticking out of the beginning of the top left of the video, is one of many that are part of the construction of the property. It is imposing and has a lot of wood. Not a style we'd go for long term but an amazing property rental nonetheless. It's on the map below and is a 5-10 minute drive in to Gibsons and a 30 second drive to the ferry! Great access to Vancouver and Whistler etc! The yellow road heading off to Gibsons is the main highway up the Sunshine Coast and our current location in Garden bay is about 80 minutes north west.
Surprise, surprise,

Bob, Glad to hear you are still quoting Mark Twain! Your post brought a smile to our faces. Your FAA physical is incentive enough to get our tickets back in Canada. Hope we get to catch-up when we are settled. We keep in touch with Vic. Mike
